Did Drizzy really open his chequebook for the comedian?
Shiggy has responded to claims that Drake paid him $250,000 for the success of his viral “In My Feelings’ challenge.
The OVO rapper celebrated the ‘Scorpion’ single reaching number one in the Billboard Hot 100 charts this week, thanks to popularity of Shiggy’s #DoTheShiggy Instagram dance sensation.
Drake and Shiggy finally met on Tuesday at a nightclub in LA and shared pictures and footage on their social media accounts.
Following the meeting, a number of blogs claimed that Drake paid Shiggy $250,000 for his contribution for helping ‘In My Feelings’ reach number one.
However in a new Instagram Live video, Shiggy has denied receiving any money from Drake regarding the song or challenge.
“N*ggas is lying,” he says at one stage during the video. “$250,000? What kind of sh*t is going on, man?”
“Yo, blogs is crazy,” he adds later in the video.
“You think he walking around with a chequebook in the club?” Shiggy asked a number of times.
DJ Akademiks also later reiterated that the news story was a lie.
