John Legend has been a vocal supporter of the women who have claimed they're victims of R Kelly's abuse and he's once again stated “I believe these women" in a new statement.
Writing on Twitter, John Legend said, 'To everyone telling me how courageous I am for appearing in the doc, it didn’t feel risky at all. I believe these women and don't give a f**k about protecting a serial child rapist. Easy decision."
Speaking about the series producer Dream Hampton, Legend added, 'We should all thank my friend @dreamhampton for her very necessary work to create #SurvivingRKelly. These survivors deserved to be lifted up and heard. I hope it gets them closer to some kind of justice.'
According to reports, other artists such as Jay Z and Erykah Badu had also been invited to appear in the documentary, however it was only John Legend who accepted the offer.
Back in 2018 the #MuteRKelly campaign began after further claims about abuse suffered at the hands of the R&B star emerged and John Legend was quick to back the campaign then too.
After sharing an open letter in April 2018, Legend tweeted, 'I stand with the women of #timesup #muterkelly'.
