However Minaj didn’t come on stage after learning that the event was fraudulent, according to Shanghaiist.
The music festival was advertised as a follow-up to the annual Djakarta Warehouse Project, which happens in Bali.
But fans were suspicious about the event after the company behind the official Indonesian festival claimed that they had “no association with the event” and were unhappy about “unauthorised” branding.
Interestingly, the event still appears to have gone ahead however Nicki Minaj did not perform at all, which led some fans showing their displeasure on social media.

According to ABC News, there were fans who waited for more than two hours to see the ‘Chun Li’ rapper, after paying as much as $400 to see her perform live.
Nicki Minaj is yet to address the situation or add any further context however she appeared to stop for a fan in an airport, where promised to return to Shanghai soon.
“I’ll be back you guys for my real fans, in Shanghai, in China. I love you so much,” she said. “And I’ll be back with a better partner this time, okay?”
Meanwhile, Nicki Minaj was recently set to appear in Tekashi 6ix9ine’s upcoming ‘MAMA’ music video alongside Kanye West.
However gunfire was heard on set of the music video, with shots going through Nicki Minaj’s dressing room widow. But the rapper hadn’t arrived on set at the time and remained unharmed.
