The album is coming soon.
Skepta has revealed that he is finishing his highly-anticipated new album ‘Konichiwa’ this week.
The Grime MC, who recently crashed a Section Boyz show with Drake, revealed the news in a new interview with iD Magazine.
“I’m finishing my album ‘Konichiwa’ this week. Finished! Done!” he said.
“Three years of my life encapsulated on a CD.”
He also revealed that the album’s Japanese theme has helped him books shows in the South East Asian country.
“I cannot believe this. I'm going to Japan in a minute to do my first show ever, because of my album,” he said.
“I want my whole Konichiwa setting to be correct when I go there.”
“But I've never been to Japan, so to go in May with this, I'm buzzing. Life is sick, don't cry for me when I die.”
Skepta’s upcoming album is rumoured to include collaborations from Drake and Kanye West.
He teased the official tracklist via Instagram earlier today:
Although Skepta hasn't officially revealed a release date, it is expected that ‘Konichiwa’ will be available this summer.
Meanwhile, he also recently announced that he is the new Cultural Ambassador for clothing brand Uniqlo.
The Grime MC has been appearing on Uniqlo adverts around the UK.
