19. Saweetie began writing music when she was 14 years old.
Growing up, Saweetie's love of poetry led her to perform at open mic nights and she soon began writing her own songs. She describes her music taste as "eclectic" due to her upbringing in The Bay, citing a love for alternative, rock, hip-hop, and R&B music. Her influences include Lil' Kim, Foxy Brown, Nicki Minaj and Trina.
