Love Island 'set to scrap’ big show rule for All Star series

Love Island bosses have revealed they are scrapping a major rule for the All Stars version of the ITV show.

Love Island has revealed that a major rule that was implemented in the past few seasons is set to be scrapped in the upcoming All Stars version.
ITV bosses have reportedly scrapped the social media ban, which made contestants pause their social media accounts whilst they appeared on Love Island to ensure that the islanders and their families would be protected from comments and hate.

The ban was enforced last year, however has since been dropped for the All Stars series, which starts this month, with rumoured contestants Elma Pazar, Georgia Harrison and Ovie Soko set to appear.
A Love Island insider has now revealed that it has been decided to lift restrictions for the All Stars series, and said contestants "should have the choice as to whether or not they want to stay active on social media."
"The feeling was that because they have all experienced life in the spotlight, and also have management advising them, that they are already aware of the potential pitfalls and negatives associated with social media."
They added to the Mail Online: "Most of them have had at least a year of living in the limelight so will hopefully be able to handle what being famous throws at them."
ITV pledge that they will continue with the training in language, behaviour and relationships which they say is 'really important to ensure we are doing what we can to prepare the Islanders on cultural differences and sensitivities.'
Love Island All Stars will launch on Monday 15 January at 9pm on ITV2, and will see host Maya Jama return for her third season as presenter.
Like all winter series of Love Island, the reality show will be filmed in South Africa.
