Tekashi 6ix9ine has been arrested today by New York police on an outstanding warrant from Texas, TMZ reports.
The 'Gummo' rapper, real name Daniel Hernandez, was arrested yesterday (Wednesday 11th July) at JFK Airport upon returning from his European tour.

According to the report, the police were acting on warrant following an altercation at Houston’s Galleria Mall in January, where 6ix9ine allegedly choked a 16-year-old.
A report from Pitchfork claims the Texas misdemeanor assault caused "bodily injury". While the 16-year-old claimed that Hernandez choked him, representatives for 6ix9ine gave no comment.
6ix9ine's team reportedly told TMZ that they were aware of the warrant, and intended to handle the situation "soon."
The controversial rapper previously pled guilty to three felony counts of Use of a Child in a Sexual Performance. He was reportedly 18 years old on the date of the crime.
Prior to his sexual misconduct charges, the New York native served jail time as a minor for assault and the sale of heroin.
